This photograph shows a replica of the uniform worn by the Massachusetts 4th Regiment of the Continental Army. Deborah Sampson fought in this regiment for more than two years until it was found that she was a woman when she was ill. Most of the information regarding this uniform was taken from her writings. She was awarded a pension for her service to her country on January 19, 1792.
